The Heart personality type is ESFJ, or Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging. This personality type is the most prevalent of all the Jungian types, and also happens to be one of the most common personality types in today’s society. ESFJs make up approximately 16% of the population, and are likely to be the most common personality type you will meet in the workforce. ESFJs are the warm, nurturing and well-meaning people of the world, making them some of the most common employers.
ESFJs tend to be fair-minded, empathetic and compassionate, though they can be a bit too trusting and overly solicitous. They have a need to feel understood and appreciated by others, and they do not like to be alone because they feel disconnected from others. They are typically people-pleasers and make decisions based on what they think will make others happy.
Of course, being so concerned with others’ needs is a great trait, but it can make ESFJs appear insincere and disengaged at times. They often will act in a manner that gives the impression that they really care about the welfare of others, but their actions are often not genuine.
