ISTP (XwX)
The Killjoy personality type is ISTP, or the “Inspector/Strategist”. This type is often described as the “Mr. Spock” of the ISTP personality type, but I think that is a bit of an oversimplification of their role. They are not the one who is always logical and logical about everything. In fact, the ISTP personality type does not function well in a rational manner. While most ISTPs are logical in their own way, they are more concerned with what they can see, hear, and feel than with rationally evaluating something based on facts. That is why they are called “Inspectors”. They spend a lot of time observing and gathering details.
ISTPs are also very careful and logical in their analysis of how things work and how they can be improved. They are interested in how things work and how to improve them (even if they don’t want to fix them). They are the ones who make all the plans and organize all the details. They can be very detail-oriented, but this is not what ISTPs themselves would call their primary function. ISTPs would probably be annoyed if I called them detail-oriented.
