My clients have called me for help with the Kirk personality type. ESTPs are represented as the “action hero” of the MBTI, and I can tell you from experience that this is a good description. ESTPs are bold and brash and have a natural aptitude for leadership. They are often “in your face” and very good at impressing people. ESTPs are generally brash and boisterous, but they are also well-intentioned and often care deeply about those they associate with.
The ESTP personality type is often perceived as the “leader” of the MBTI types. However, there is more to the ESTP personality type than just being a leader. In fact, it’s not really accurate to describe ESTPs as simply a leader. When I think of ESTPs, I tend to think of them more as a mechanic: someone who is skilled with tools and knows how to use them to fix things – and fix them well.
