This book was a very quick read; however, there is one thing that I felt was missing in this story, which is a good moral. Although it is easy to feel sorry for the little girl in this story, the woman who is abusing her, receiving her Christmas presents, and even going to church with her, is not shown in a very sympathetic light. And, when the little girl finally gets out of her situation, she is left on her own to fend for herself.
This book also has a lot of violence in it. Although it is not described in great detail, there is still a lot of blood and violence thrown around.
This book was very good and an example of a true Christmas story. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes books about little girl abuse.
