In the anime, the relationship between Miyuki and Otonashi was explored to an even greater extent than in the manga. In Episode 12, Miyuki was introduced as a transfer student to Otonashi's school. Miyuki had an immediate reaction of attraction to Otonashi; she told him that she had a crush on him for about half an hour, and this showed that she had feelings for him. She was also shown to be very friendly towards him, even when they first met. She was shown to be very open and honest with him, and was shown to be very protective of him when her friend Shino confessed her growing feelings for Otonashi. In Episode 18, Miyuki was shown to be truly concerned about Otonashi's absence from school, and wanted to help him find a reason for his absences. She was also shown to have an interest in astronomy, and wanted to make a star chart with Otonashi, showing that she wanted to spend time together with him. In Episode 22, Otonashi finally confessed his feelings for Miyuki, and to his surprise, she said that she had feelings for him too.
