They can be a bit of a puzzle, and they’re not likely to stay put for long.
Shinnies are medium-to-large dogs who are supremely social but not overly affectionate. They typically enjoy being around people and other dogs, and they’re quite comfortable living in an apartment or house with a regular routine. They’re not usually good with kids, however, and they can be prone to barking at strangers.
These dogs are often vocal, and they can be fairly energetic. They typically make good apartment dogs, but they’re not suited to life in a small backyard without their space. They’re athletic enough to play fetch and good athletes, but they need a yard to play in. Shinnies also don’t do well without regular walks, so be prepared to take them out on a regular basis.
