“I was voted off the board of a company where I served for over 13 years, where I got elected to two terms as chief executive officer,” says Silverman. “I was voted off because the board decided to take the company public without my authorization.”
In 2007, the board of directors at Cybernet Systems, a privately held company located in Huntsville, Alabama, voted to take Cybernet public. Cybernet was founded in 1992 by Silverman and his then-wife Patricia Silverman, who worked there as their company’s marketing director.
