Kristy Gasterie personality type is ESTP, but I have to admit that as a youth, I often identified strongly with ISFPs. In adolescence, I was all about being quirky and curious, which tended to come across as quirky and curious. I also was the type who disliked being told what to do–or being told what to think. For the record, I think I was pretty good at both those things in my youth.
I think I’ve been more introverted over the years, but I still have a strong affinity for being “out there” as a creative spirit and an experimental thinker. I also have a strong streak of rough-and-tumble playfulness–with myself and others.
I don’t think that this makes me a more extroverted personality type than ISFPs, but it does make me more comfortable with my own personality than the average ESTP. And this comfort with my own nature is probably one of the reasons why I’m drawn to other ESTPs most of all–I simply feel more comfortable in their company and among their kind.
Now, if you have a strong preference for other ESTP types in your life, that’s cool too.
