Tilly had been watching the sky for hours, waiting for the sun to rise. It had been more than two days since the day on which she had set out to find her parents. Two days since she had seen them last. Two days since she had been separated from them by two strangers, who had then allowed her to go free.
How could this be? Tilly wondered. How could she have come so far from her home in such a short time? She had been so close to her parents, yet they were thousands of miles away.
