The Prophet of Islam is an ENTP, as are the saints of Sufism, and many of the Islamic "saints" and Sufi leaders during the early period of Islam. Hence, I'm not suggesting that the Muslim personality is or is not a stereotype. There are plenty of stereotypes about Muslims in the West, but there are far fewer stereotypes about the Muslim personality.
In many ways, the West has gone through a cycle of enmity and hatred towards Muslims, followed by a period of tolerance, followed by one of antagonism, followed by another of tolerance, which repeats itself. It is also clear that Islam has become a major political issue in America today, and Christian conservatives are pushing hard against Islam as they see it as a threat to their values. But what is the Christian West's view of Islam? Is Islam really a threat to their values? My guess is that the Christian West sees Islam very much in terms of what it is – an authentic religion inspired by its founder Muhammad – rather than as a threat to their values.
