The Turkey-based NKI researchers have been examining the prevalence of personality types among people from 28 different countries in the world. They found that the prevalence of ISTJ is about 30 percent in Turkey and about 34 percent in Germany, and that the prevalence of ISFJ is about 20 percent in Turkey and about 15 percent in Germany.
Hasan Saim Talu, a professor of psychology at the University of Central Lancashire and a co-author of the paper, said ISTJ is the most commonly occurring personality type in Turkey. The researchers believe that this could be attributed to certain cultural factors in Turkey. "The Turkic culture is based on values like personal responsibility, honesty, thrift and self-control," Talu told Al-Monitor. "These values are very important for ISTJs."
ISTP is the third most prevalent personality type in Turkey, but it is not particularly prevalent among Turks, the researchers found.
