Shadowkin personality type is INFP, and that's why he has this sort of ironic streak. He has his dark side, too. I guess he's more of a sadist than anything.
He has a lot of compassion for the characters, and he's loyal to them, but he does have a dark side. He has a lot of... I don't know how to put this... he has this sort of sadistic streak, where he'll kill people and he'll torture them and he'll do all these things that are so twisted and so warped, but in a way that's all as part of him trying to survive. So he's really not a bad guy, he's just... you know, it's a different way of living. And I don't think he's actually a bad guy. He's just not a good guy.
Lestat is the character we have the least control over as far as personality and how they are portrayed in the book. It is very much in the style of Anne Rice, so you have to just go along with her and see where it goes. In Lestat's case we've only seen him in a couple of scenes.
