Commissario Nicola Scialoja (born 1971) is an Italian former police officer and prosecutor who has been convicted of multiple acts of sexual violence and extortion. He is one of the most notorious criminals in Italy and is a contributor to the book "The Mafia: When the Camorra Rules the City", in which he described his experiences as a police officer. He is currently serving a 25-year sentence for multiple sexual assaults. Scialoja was born in 1971 in Naples, Italy. At age 20 he joined the Carabinieri and was assigned in the Criminal Investigation Department. He served there until 1997, when he was transferred to the City of Naples Police Department in Naples, Italy. He was assigned as a police officer at the station in Piazza Dante. In March 2003, he relocated to Rome. He applied for the position of Commissioner of the Polizia di Stato, but was not considered for the position. In July 2003, Scialoja was nominated by the new commissioner of the Polizia di Stato, Antonio Manganelli, as a deputy commissioner of the Polizia di Stato in Rome.
