I am going to talk briefly about personality type and Jung’s theory and then talk about what the ISTP type is all about.
Personality Theory
Personality theory is a very interesting way to describe personality. In the most basic terms, it is a model of how people act and how they relate to other people. The best way to describe it is to say that it is an understanding of how you act in different situations.
Jung used the word “personality” very broadly and I think it’s useful in the sense that it includes traits, behaviors, and reactions to situations. For example, the word “personality” would include how you act in the morning, your behaviors at work, and your reactions to things.
Jung used the word “type” instead of “personality” which was an interesting choice.
