The only thing that gets Shawn down, she says, is her family. “My family is, like, messed up. My parents are, like, on divorce, divorce, divorce all the time. My dad has been, like, arrested for murder and all this stuff. My brother is, like, in jail and stuff, and my mom’s, like, on drugs. Like, my family is so messed up.”
Shawn pauses for a moment to collect herself and then says: “I don’t know — I don’t know. I mean, I get sad about my brother, but I don’t know. It’s crazy.”
Shawn says that since she started on The Voice, she’s had more people approach her to thank her than she ever imagined.
