As an INTP, I’m often asked if I’m an introvert or extrovert, or if I have a preference for one or the other. But it’s not so much of a distinction as a matter of degree. I’m more comfortable with myself when I’m in a social situation than when I’m alone, but that doesn’t mean that I enjoy being in social situations. I’m not one of those people who gets energized by social interaction - at least, not without some sort of intellectual challenge involved.
I like to think of myself as a thinking person. I enjoy the deep thought process that goes into planning how to do something, whether it’s how to solve a problem or how to articulate an idea. Thinking requires mental energy, and as such, thinking tends to draw me away from action.
