As is the case with many ENFJs, Jian’s life hasn’t been easy. He has a deeply traumatic childhood and many of his friends were killed in the war. His family struggled financially and Jian was often the one to help support the family, despite being in high school.
“I wanted to help my family because I felt I owed them something,” Jian said. “My parents struggled a lot to raise me and my little sister.”
Before Jian joined the military, he worked as a freelance journalist and photographer. He was also involved with the military in the past, but realized he could do more good by working in journalism than as a soldier.
Jian said he became interested in being a journalist after he saw a report on the Vietnam War on television that was broadcast in China.
“I started to think about where I could do more good and I thought about what I was passionate about,” he said. “I realized that my passion was with journalism because I could bring information to the people.”
