Yukari was born on the 12th of February 1973 in Tokyo to the family of a lawyer and a homemaker. She attended Musashino Art University and graduated in 1996. She later went to New York where she was involved with animation. She studied at the New York Film Academy from 2003 to 2005, under the mentorship of David B. Levy and Tomer Hanuka.
For her role as an animator for "Kanon", Yukari was nominated for the Best Actress award at the 2006 Anime Awards.
