Plot
Souta was first introduced as a friend of Junpei Amano and as a member of the school's "triangle club". He was also the one who gave Junpei the card that had the key phrase, "the way to my heart is bright". After Junpei lost it, Souta and his gang kept looking for it, and finally found it. It turned out that Souta and his friends were looking for the cards because they wanted to find a way to make their futures bright, and not realizing Junpei's intentions, they gave him the card instead. After the incident with the "accidental trap" (which was actually a trap by Junpei), Junpei lost the card (and the key phrase), and Souta and his gang took it back.
Souta is not introduced as a full-fledged character until the end of chapter 4, where he introduces himself as a member of the school's "triangle club".
