I had the pleasure of meeting Anish at the end of November 2015 at the event they put on in San Francisco. I was drawn to the group after hearing their story and connecting with the members of the family that attended the event. When I met them, I immediately felt a connection to them and their work.
They’re known for their beautiful, soft, flowing pieces of art that are filled with layers of meaning. You can see their work in a variety of mediums including metal, wood, and canvas.
Anish is a Bay Area artist who specializes in sculpting and hand-painting metal and wood. He has been working with metals and wood as a medium since he was a child and he currently teaches metal art at his alma mater, the San Francisco Police Academy. His personal work is also a representation of his life experiences, and he has a passion for expressing his feelings through his creative expression.
