Being an INFJ, I have had to deal with the challenges of being a female INFJ for a long time. INFJs are the rarest type of the 16 Myers-Briggs types. The INFJ personality type is introverted, intuitive, feeling, and perceiving. I am an INFJ and I know that I am supposed to say that it is not that bad, it is an INFJ’s role to be able to express themselves and they are expected to do that. But as an INFJ, I am always trying to find a balance between wanting to express myself and feeling like I am not being allowed to do so.
A lot of INFJs struggle to express themselves due to the societal pressure to be perfect. We are expected to have perfect people skills – be caring, kind, understanding, and patient. We are expected to be the ones who never have a bad time with our friends, we are supposed to be the ones who never cause drama. We are even expected to be perfect mothers – giving birth to babies without any complications, feeding our babies without any issues.
