I’ve met Mr. Jones a number of times. He’s always very persistent and has a no-holds-barred attitude. During my recent Intuitive as a Type blog series, I discussed the ISTP Mr. Jones archetype and how he shows up in our lives.
In this article, I focus on one aspect of Mr. Jones’ personality type that’s often misunderstood: aggression. Understanding the difference between assertiveness and aggression can save us a lot of time and energy.
What is assertiveness?

It’s not about being aggressive or rude. It’s about having the courage to express our thoughts and feelings when we want something done differently or get yelled at for voicing our opinion. We can be assertive when we insist on our rights and won’t back down from a confrontation.
