The only real evidence of this is that she is terrified of fire, and only leaves the cave when her mother gives her a torch.
We do not see her interact with other people, so this cannot be proven.
In the film however, Persephone is shown exploring the cave with the other kids, and then meeting the "gods" for the first time. She is then shown in her room, and is later seen with the other kids in the playground.
However, we can assume this is a reflection of what happens in the film; that Persephone's personality isn't so much set in stone as it is highly malleable.
In fact, "malleable" is a key word here. I would argue that while the actress who played Persephone did not change drastically in personality, the character did change drastically.
When the film began, the character was a bit more self-conscious and fearful. However, as the story progressed she became much more confident and outgoing.
