Dokuta Yogano (born on December 3, 1933) is a Japanese scientist and inventor who has made a mark in a wide range of fields. The Dokuta family name translates to “the one who knows everything.”
Yogano was born in Japan, and was trained as a scientist at the age of 14. He studied Physics and Mathematics at Tokyo Imperial University, then worked for IBM for three years before leaving to focus on his Ph.D. Dokuta graduated with a Ph.D. in Physics in 1967, and went on to work at Tokyo University.
In 1973, Yogano founded the Research Center for Superconductivity at the University of Tokyo, where he was the director until his retirement in 2001.
