Balerion “The Black Dread” personality type is ENTP, and it is this personality type that is described as “Away Team”. It is therefore logical that the ‘Away Team’ should be an ENTP – although this is not a certainty, and some other personality types could also fit.
In the books, the “Away Team” is said to consist of three people, who are the only ones capable of using the Dark Tower. The first person that we see using the Dark Tower is Roland of Gilead, and he requires the help of his friend and fellow gunslinger Ted Brautigan to do so. It appears that one of the reasons that Roland chose to take Ted along was so that Ted would provide him with an extra pair of hands.
Another member of the “Away Team” is Eddie Dean, but he is a bit of a mystery as to why he is part of it as he has no psychic abilities whatsoever. Unlike Roland and Ted, Eddie is a very inexperienced gunslinger, which makes him ill-suited to be part of the “Away Team”.
