Boreas personality type is ISFP, which is described as a "deeply sensitive and emotional" introvert. "He's very soft-spoken and nervous," says his mother, who lives in New York City. "He's very, very quiet and has to be alone a lot."
When she was 10, Boreas' father was diagnosed with cancer. The family moved from New York to Los Angeles to be closer to the children's grandparents and to seek better treatment. It was here that Boreas' parents met.
"When they met, they fell in love," says his father, who is originally from New Orleans. "It was like they'd been looking for each other all their lives."
After his father died in 2004, his mother decided to take her son back to New York. A few years later, she decided it was time to move again, this time to the Bay Area, where Boreas will attend high school.
Boreas' mother says he is more like their father than their mother, in part because he seems to be trying harder to follow in the footsteps of his father. He loves to read and write and has an intense interest in science. "He's always tinkering with things," she says.
