I think the most important thing for me to know about myself is that I need to be a better leader. I need to be a better leader in every aspect of my life. My goal is not to be a leader by nature or by reputation, or by title. It’s to be a leader by example, by actually doing the work.
If you had one tip for someone reading this book, what would it be?
My tips are probably obvious to most people. I guess one is just to be patient with yourself. You have to really want to do this work on your own. The other thing is to be authentic, because there are so many people who want to be leaders, but they are not authentic. The thing that I try to do is to be authentic and transparent, even when it’s tough.
