Perry Annunziata is a retired professional wrestler who was known by his ring name “Muscles” Marinara”. He competed in professional wrestling from the 1960s to the late 1980s. He was one-half of the tag team known as the “High Flyers” with Pat Patterson (who was also known as “The Heavyweight Champ”). Annunziata began his career wrestling in the mid-1960s for Vince McMahon Sr.’s Capitol Wrestling Corporation during the territorial days. He debuted in Florida and won the Florida Heavyweight Championship from Pat Patterson in 1966. He later left Capitol and traveled to Texas where he formed a tag team with Pat Patterson. During this time, he began to use the ring name “Muscles Marinara”, which was based on his Italian heritage.
Besides wrestling, Annunziata was also a fitness enthusiast, and competed in bodybuilding competitions. He participated in the Mr. Olympia contest in 1973, where he placed fourth. He then participated in the 1977 Mr. Olympia contest, where he placed second behind winner Lou Ferrigno.
