The INFP has a constant struggle between their dominant function, introverted intuition, and their auxiliary function, extroverted feeling. An INFP who is too much based in their dominant function can be difficult to understand. They are constantly trying to do their best for others and to live a life according to what they believe is right.
They are often confused in the world because people don’t understand their struggle to live up to their own standards. INFP’s are often portrayed as being indecisive, because they often don’t know what they want and they feel endless conflict about what they should do and what they should be doing. This conflict does not stem from indecisiveness, but rather, from the fact that INFP’s are living according to their own standards. They are constantly judging themselves against the world, comparing themselves to others and struggling with how to live up to the standards they want to live up to.
