I have been exploring my INFJ type for many years now, since I began to explore who I really am. And I have come to understand that I was simply a passive observer of these interactions, rather than a part of them.
Here is an example of my passive engagement in an interaction:
I am standing next to a group of people, and I am feeling very bored. I feel like I want to say something, but I’m not sure how to take the conversation forward. So I decide to cheer myself up by looking at another group of people enjoying themselves.
Now, you are probably thinking: “But what about telling people how great they are? Isn’t that the INFJ way?”
You would be wrong.
INFJs have a difficult time being themselves in social situations. They don’t know how to be without the regular support of their inner guide. They need that support to be able to access the strength and wisdom of their deep inner world.
