As for his development, I think it's been well done because of the fact that "Arkham Knight" is a prequel to "Arkham City" and "Arkham Origins". In "Arkham City", you see the Joker as a very calm, collected, and patient person. In "Arkham Origins", you see him as a very crazy and unpredictable person. You can see how he's developed throughout the games. He was pretty much the same person in the first two, and then he became a lot more unstable and erratic. I think it's great because it adds to the story and makes it more interesting and gives the character more depth.
