So we all have a preference for thinking, and have an inner drive to do so.
The trouble comes when you spend your time trying to get others to understand you and your ideas, which ends up being a waste of time (unless you are an academic and have a lot of research to do). This is because the people you are trying to get to understand you and your ideas are not going to be doing any of the work. They are mostly likely not going to agree with you, and will probably do their best to make fun of you or discount your ideas. This leads to frustration, defensiveness, and a lot of wasted energy. This is not a good way to spend your time.
To make matters worse, people are not very good at listening. People are very bad at listening to other people. They often have no idea what is going on inside their own minds, and they don't have the patience to figure it out.
