Tyrannosaurus was the largest known dinosaur, with adult specimens ranging from 12 m (39 ft) in length (subspecies such as Tyrannosaurus rex) to 18 m (59 ft) (subspecies such as Tarbosaurus). The largest species, Gorgosaurus, reached about 20 m (66 ft).
