Geluk grew up in an environment of hard work and uncompromising discipline, which he believes was largely responsible for his success. He trained as an architect and a landscape architect, and at one point had a wife and two children. But he became restless. He says: "I was always looking for the next challenge. I wanted to follow the wind, not just walk behind it."
In 1993, Geluk moved to the Netherlands and became a Dutch citizen. That same year he founded his own company. He became a millionaire by the age of 30. Now aged 46, he is one of the country's most successful entrepreneurs, with a fortune of €7.5m.
Geluk is a member of the Association of Dutch Entrepreneurs (VNO-NCW), who advocate for small and medium-sized firms, and is an active member of the business community in Rotterdam. More than just his business interests though, Geluk has also become involved in political life.
His views on Europe are no different to those of most entrepreneurs I have come across.
