It's because of his desire to make people happy, but he doesn't understand why.
He wants to make people happy because he is a positive person, and he's used to being the one making everyone happy and he wants to be able to do it again but it's a lot harder to make everyone happy when you're stuck in the 99.99% of the population that isn't INFJ.
He tries to make people happy and he's not sure how and he thinks it's because he's not good enough, but it's really because he's not a very good person.
So that's his struggle.
The other element is his faulty perception of the world. He thinks that the world is inherently good and that he was just born into the wrong family and circumstances. So it's not his fault, it's just the circumstances.
This is why we have the V/N conflict, because V/N is basically "you're not good enough, so you're not allowed to be".
He tried to change himself to fit in with everyone else, but he ended up feeling like a fake for it.
