He was always quiet and never made any friends at school, so he didn’t know how to act at all. He would try to act cool but wasn’t very good at it, and so he didn’t have many friends until he met Kurama.
I think that he is a very kind person and does not like to be mean or to make others feel bad about themselves, even if he doesn’t really know them. Although he can be pretty harsh at times, mostly when he is mad, but that is because he is trying to keep himself from being too aggressive.
