Bokken / bokutō personality type is ESTP, not ESFP. There is a very thin line between being outgoing and being cocky. So much so, that it can be difficult to tell who is who. I was always told that my attitude was my biggest shortcoming. I was the type of kid who would always be the first one to volunteer in any group activity, even if I didn't feel like I was needed. I would never let anyone down. I'd always be there for anyone and anything. I'm stubborn. I'm opinionated. I get that from my dad, he's a bit of a character like that. But I think when you are a kid, you don't really see yourself or your personality until you grow up. It was only after reading a lot of books and learning a lot about myself and people in general that I had an idea of what I really was about.
I was not an outgoing child. I did not talk to many people until junior high school. That's when I met kids that my age that were like me and were outgoing and energetic, and we became friends. After that, they were the first people I ever talked to in life.
