I don’t know if this is a coincidence, but the designers of The Nameless Girl have often spoken at length about the themes of their game. A particularly interesting quote came from a designer working on The Nameless Girl:
“The game is about the question of ‘What is life?’ and how we define it. For example, the game’s ‘enemy’ is a ghost that symbolizes the absence of life. It’s a metaphor for death. However, we also want to make sure that the player realizes that the ghost is not an enemy in itself, but rather a symbol for the absence of life.
