Aera personality type is ISTP, not ISTJ. The primary difference between the two is that ISFJs are more focused on the group than on the individual and are better at making connections (ISFJs are more sensitive and reactive to other people's emotions) whereas ISTPs are more focused on their own private lives, which they want to keep separate from other people.
ISTPs are not very comfortable with feelings or emotions, so they don't seem like a natural fit for the ESTJ personality type. I believe it's because ISTPs are more interested in their individual lives than in the social life, and they don't think that being more social would be beneficial to them. ISTP are less likely to seek advice and more likely to find their own way through life (which is why they tend to be less social).
An ISTP with a strong ESTJ personality type will probably also have a strong Si, which won't be helpful in any way to their ISFJ nature.
I don't think ISTPs can make it as an ESTJ at all, because of the way their temperaments clash. It's like trying to figure out how a cat would fit into a school of fish.
