“I thought I’d be a preacher, but my first seminary was in business,” said Sprecher, who is also the pastor of a large church in Midland.
Sprecher decided to make seminary a practical experience and majored in business administration. He said it wasn’t until his junior year that he discovered what he wanted to do with his life.
“I saw a group of seminarians play a game at a baseball game,” Sprecher said. “They were playing baseball and I thought that was pretty funny.”
Sprecher went on to major in Business in his senior year at Reformed Theological Seminary. After graduation, he worked for an oil company for seven years, then came to Michigan for a few years and then back to Texas.
