He then came up with a plan to turn the restaurant into a hotel, and began to hire employees. During Season 2, he made the decision to fire the employees and make them perform menial tasks around the restaurant. The employees did not take kindly to this, and became convinced that Gus was a bad manager. After a period of time in Season 2, Gus was fired as manager of "Pizzaland", for reasons unknown at the time.
Artie G. "Lurch" Lester was the manager of a local pizza shop in Springfield. He was also the father of Artie himself.
