We were both in our 20s when we first met, and I was at a career crossroads after working in the private sector for a few years and then having gotten married, and my husband had just left the military.
I was looking for a job in public service, and I interviewed for a job at Library and Archives Canada. My interviewer was a man and I wasn't interested in talking about cultural stuff with a man, so I said, "I'm interested in the work that you do, but I'm not interested in talking about culture with a man." He said, "Well, this is the only position that I have open, so we should talk about culture." I was like, "Yes! This is perfect. I can talk about culture with you!" And so he interviewed me and offered me the job.

This interview was also kind of funny because there was quite a bit of tension between the two of us.
