I think my struggle with food started at an early age. I was the skinny kid in school (I'm 5'7" now, I'm glad I did grow into it), and that is where my issues started. From the time I was 15 to 20, I was always trying to lose weight or to fit in with other people's standards of beauty. Exercise and nutrition were never really a priority in my life.

My issues with food grew over time, and I'm not sure exactly when it started. I always knew I was eating too much, but I would never admit that I had a problem. I usually just hid my food and would eat alone at home. Food was so much a part of my life that I would eat when I was sad, angry, excited, lonely, or stressed out. My eating was a way for me to comfort myself.

I have come a long way from where I was in my early 20's.
