Dan Hooker personality type is ESTP, which is both a good fit and a personal preference. He fights with people he doesn’t like, he has a short attention span, and he’s very impulsive. He’s not the type of guy to stick around and get his hands dirty, he’s a fighter. I don’t see him as being much of a writer; he would rather fight than sit around and write. He has the ego of an ESTP, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on what you’re trying to accomplish.
For me, it’s a good thing. I wouldn’t want to work with anyone else.
I do feel like I’ve influenced him, though. When I was first starting out, I was reading everything I could get my hands on: The Art of War, Sun Tzu, Machiavelli, Sun-Tzu’s The Art of War, and pretty much anything I could find on strategy. I would just sit in my room, reading the books and taking notes. It was all very abstract at the time.
