Susanoo No Mikoto personality type is ISTJ, but neither is INFJ.
After originally being told that I was an ISTJ, I was informed that I was an INFJ.
I can confirm that you don't necessarily have to be an INFJ to be an ISTJ. I was always told that I was an INFJ, but I am definitely not.
Personally, I think it's better to be more open about your personality type than to try to hide it. If people know your type, they can support you better and understand your behavior more. Maybe you were just with the wrong INFJ?
Riskbreaker I personally think that personality typing is not a very useful tool for self-improvement or in helping people understand themselves, as a lot of the time it is not very accurate. However, if you have received a type on a personality test, and it doesn't seem to fit, then you can try to talk to the people who gave you the test and see what they think.
On the other hand, if someone has given you a type that seems wrong and they can't seem to understand why, then maybe they are not really your type after all.
