Ethan personality type is ESTP, but my Myers-Briggs is ISFP. How can this be?
My theory is that it's possible ISFP types are more likely to find the idea of a "real" hero attractive, while ESTP types are more likely to be skeptical and cynical. The ISFP and ESTP both have a strong interest in external experiences, but the ISFP is generally more interested in them as sources of learning and inspiration that they can incorporate into their own lives (while the ESTP is more focused on the experiences themselves). The ESTP might be more likely to take in the ideas of a hero, but would probably find the idea of being a hero less attractive than the ISFP would.
I've seen people say that Myers-Briggs is not a good way to pick a career, but I'm wondering if there are certain careers that are more common for one personality type than another.
I'm not sure there's much of anything like a "typical" career for any particular type.
