After she died, he married his secretary's daughter, Marla Jameson, but eventually left her due to infidelity. He took the identity of the Green Goblin, and began to kill people for their money. The Green Goblin had a son with his wife, who was put into a mental institution after the death of his father. Osborn killed his wife in order to have a son again. As the Green Goblin, he kidnapped Peter Parker's friend Gwen Stacy in order to lure Spider-Man to him. The Green Goblin had hired Vulture as his primary enforcer. A battle between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin ensued, with Spider-Man emerging victorious.
