Ryoko Mendō personality type is ENTP, a type which I associate with mainly the word "innovation" and "ideas" (which in my mind is an apt description for the ENTP). So, in the case of Rozen Maiden, this is an ENTP feckless-innovation-idea-type character. And so, she really could have been the second to last character to be introduced, after the twins. But, thankfully, that didn't happen.
Ayano's personality type was initially a bit of a surprise to me too. I thought she was an ENTP type, but then I recalled that she did end up having all the skills of an ENTJ and all the naivety of a J type (the word "naive" is used here in a very non-pejorative way; I mean, she's naive in a way that is very endearing and kind of charming).
