Jesse personality type is ESFJ, described by Wikipedia as "a warm and giving person who is cooperative and outgoing, but who is reluctant to make decisions or take strong action on their own."
While living in the same city, Jesse and I have become close friends. He's a hard-working guy who has many friends. His wife has been in the same job for nearly 20 years, and has a great family.
For all the reasons above, I would never suggest that Jesse change his job or his career path. But I do want to share with you what Jesse thinks about his work.
Here's what Jesse told me:
"I am not very good at my job right now. I am not performing as well as I know I should be. I am not happy at work."
This is a big issue.
It's not that Jesse is not enjoying his work and his boss. He's a great boss and an excellent worker, but he's not happy with his performance. In fact, he's quite unhappy.
This is a classic Type A Behavior pattern - where we tend to be hard on ourselves and under-achieve.
