Stu personality type is ESFP, and that's who the book is written for. I'm an INFJ, and I disagree. The character of Leslie Knope, a very extroverted woman, is said to be an ISFP. But, it's possible that she really is an ESFP-oriented female, and the ISFP type is simply the gender that has been associated with the character.
I'm not trying to start an argument about who's more "real" - fictional characters are created to represent a certain personality type, and there's no reason to think that one of those personality types can't also be a fictional character. I just feel that being represented as an ISFP is a disservice to people who are actually ESFPs.
I can't speak for other types, but I do know that I can't help but feel that my own personality type is constantly being misrepresented or overlooked. It's not just in fiction, either - it's in real life as well. I often get the question "are you a boy or a girl?" when someone comes up to me in public, and it can be awkward because I'm not sure whether they're trying to ask me my gender or what my personality type is.
